ABOUT ME

I'm a veteran artist and graphic designer who discovered birding a few years ago. It started with the movie THE BIG YEAR. I figured, Sure, this is about birdwatching, but it has three of my favorite stars. How bad can it be? Turns out, it's fantastic. Instead of finding something stuffy and dull, you get plunged into a world filled with excitement, drama and meaning. Immediately hooked, I ordered the book, then started learning to identify birds on my own.

At one point, I wanted something IRL to remind me of this new adventure. Specifically, I wanted something made for a birder, not a product with a generic bird-like shape slapped onto it. Except for a few field journals, I couldn't find anything that fit the bill, so I figured, You've got the know-how. Why not make your own?
